Snowshoeing Sierra Nevada

Guided day or multi-day tours here in these wonderful mounatins!

What it is all about?

In the forests above CapileiraDuring the winter months snow is in abundance; and with great trails offering wonderful scenery, snowshoers will find this a wonderful destination. Moreover, snowshoers of every level of skill and experience will find plenty of trails to meet their desires and needs.

If youve never tried it....you should! Its good fun and very easy to learn. From high start points to the north of the Veleta (3394 m) peak we have easy access to high snow bowls where the basics can be learnt. After the brief learning curve we can then ascend some simple peaks. Longer tours can be found to the south of the range, including the highest peak in mainland Spain...Mulhacen (3483 m). There are some fantasic descents through the forests above Capileira!

We have snowshoes available from well know makes such as Tubbs, Salomen and Camp. Hire costs are included in the holiday price.

We also use the high Puerto de Ragua as an access point to get to the wonderful snows of the eastern Sierras. Unspoilt and quiet, this area is ideal for venturing into the winter hills.

When snow conditions allow we are able to run trips in the hills and forests just above your base at Lanjaron. Almost snowshoeing from the doorstep!
