In the west of Andalucia, in the Natural Park of Sierra de Aracena, sits Refugio Bonales Mountain Retreat, a beautifully restored old farmhouse on the southern slope of a mountain alongside the Moral riverside.
It sits on a small plateau at 900 m. altitude. Open all year round
An hours walk away is the highest point of western Sierra Morena (1.100m Tentudia Monastery). We invite you visit and enjoy the privileged natural environment: Mediterreanean forest and highland pastures. Great walking available from the hut doorway and a warm welcome is extended to all visitors.
The refuge has the international Eco-label "Eceat" for ecological and agricultural tourism.
For access we discourage the use of motor vehicles near the mountain retreat, so guests can make the lovely 1.5 hr. walk from town accompanied by pack mules if needed.
The refuge can take small as well as big groups as there is plenty of room either camping in the 70.000sqm estate or in the house. There are three bedrooms, a dining room, a cooking chimmey, library, eco-cinema, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a natural swimming pool.
Located in Arroyomolinos of Leon (Huelva), on the southern slope of Bonales peak (1057m) and the Monastery of Tentudia, on the right bank of the Rio Moral,
Access is on foot some 4.8km from Arroyomolinos. The refuge is located in a hilly cirque surrounded by lush oak woodland. It is a restoration of an old mountain farm.
It has 3 bedrooms, 2 mezzanines, living room, cook fireplace, library, eco-film, 2 Bath, 2 showers and kitchen. Set in an area of 70.000 sq meters, with streams, orchards , with more than 100 identifiable plants.
