Mountain Climbs in the Puna de Atacama, Argentina, Andes

Around the Salta and Jujuy regions in north west Argentina lie some of the Andes highest peaks. These are mountains for all, but predominately for the modest mountaineer who wishes to tackle technically easy mountains but at high altitude. They are an excellent training area if you aspire to some of the himalayan giants. We have selected an interesting mix in our itineraries below. From the very high 6700m+ peaks of Pissis and Llullailluco to the easier and shorter 5500m peaks and volcanoes.

Remember that mountaineering is a sport and as such you need to be as fit as possible in order to perform and succeed. All expeditions include: Local Guides, Tents, Food & all cooking equipment, Porters (depending on the mountain), Oxygen for emergency use, VHF Radios. You may combine any amount of trips to extend your stay in the area

Only 4 clients are required to run a trip to these startlingly barren, remote, high, but incredible mountains. We run these mountain ascents in conjunction with our friends in Argentina, Puma Expeditions, experienced and knowlegeable local guides.
