Puente Palo 24th January
Snow level 1600m this morning in the Alpujarras at Puente Palo. Freezing again there tonight so roads icy tomorrow. 10cm fresh snow above 1600m. Meets consolidated snow/ice patches at 2100.

Great conditions for ski touring and mountaineering BUT possibly bad weather Wednesday to Saturday. More snow!

Cheers for the updates, been watching the weather over at mountain-forecast.com and could see the weather coming in. Looks like you are in for a well needed fall of snow. Although, it looks a bit breezy by the weekend!

Yes, weve battened down the hatches here in Lanjaron. No point really going up until Friday afternoon. Then we go to the Poqueira hut for 2 nights to do the east ridge or Puntal de la caldera and a night ascent of Mulhacen (weather gods willing).

Might be quite a bit of new snow by Saturday lunchtime.
