First snows of winter on their way!
A progressively bad weather forecast this week culminating in some snow over 2800m this weekend coming (9th to 11th October). Some models suggest up to 1m snow in the Sierra Nevada but this may be optimistic.
The bad weather will be accompanied by strong and very strong winds. AEMET (the spanish weather forecast) is suggesting gusts of 150kph on Sunday! Saturday will be ok in the morning but a progressively worsening situation will develop during the day. Sunday and Monday.... bad! Spanish Highs Mountain Guides |

Sunday 10th October and the first snows have fallen in the Sierra Nevada as predicted. See the photo below from the ski centre cameras.
