Ski advice - Sierra Nevada

For touring, I have been using a rather light ski, K2 Ascent

[El Perro Negro]

I have no experience of the K2's nor Bandit's. I have always used Hagan touring skis. As you have said, they are great for going uphill but not as good in mixed or poor conditions when coming downhill.

I have thought about buying some wider skis myself but have decided against it. I think, overall, I prefer the lighter ski even if it means the descent is a bit more complicated and difficult. I guess it's a personal thing though.
