Anybody done Mt Toubkal (or wants to)?
After 6 years living in Spain it's about time I got my rear end into gear and started to look at our nearest neighbour, Morrocco. Just a short ferry ride across the water.
Toubkal (4167m) in winter sounds like it could be an interesting and good ascent. Due to work committments Im looking at mid-April. I am currently enquiring with some local guides about engaging their help re transport etc. Hopefully they will supply a full itinerary and costs. Anybody interested in joining us let me know? Any info would be appreciated especially access to the mountain via Spain, Marrakesh etc Spanish Highs Mountain Guides |

Update on prices for a trip
I have been in contact with Mustapha at http://www.atlasandsaharatours.com. We have been in contact with him before. He seems a nice guy and efficient. We have yet to finalise prices and numbers but John Fry has a friend who has a hotel in Marakesh so maybe we shall stay there.
Cheapest for us maybe to go from Motril/Malaga to Tangier on ferry and then go overland to Marakesh. Got to be cheap eh? I suggest we hire Mustapha for the 2 day Toubkal ascent to/from Marakesh and stay with Johns friend in Marakesh before and after. Anybody interested let me know asap. Dates ........ around mid to end April. Spanish Highs Mountain Guides |

4 is not a bad number considering short notice and dont forget the "crisis" people dont have money

Re: Anybody done Mt Toubkal (or wants to)?
Dates: Struggling end April cos of work committments, so I would like to suggest beginning of May instead. OK, not so much snow but at least we shall get to recce it. If they have had as much snow as in the Sierra Nevada then we should be OK.
