A new 9 kilometres of the A-7 motorway will be opened at the end of May, between La Herradura and Taramay, near Almu?ecar. This is good news, as it will alleviate the busy stretch of road and holdups around Almu?ecar.
This has always been a difficult stretch to complete with the terrain and a bad accident last year complicating and slowing down the completion. The journey time from Lanjaron to Malaga for instance will be reduced from 1hr 45mins to 1hr 30mins. Good news for all those having to travel betwen the Sierra Nevada and Malaga or the Costa Tropical.
