Hi there, a friend of mine used the GoPro Hero last summer on a bike ride accross Australia. He has just responded to my question on what he used and went on to state that they worked really well and have fantastic 'on bike' footage from their journey.

I am sure you will not be disappointed - the GoPros do seem to get used alot and the Hero2 can only be better than its original.

best of luck
Spready

Ive got a Contour plus and to be perfectly honest Im a little bit disappointed. Heard that the GoPros are the best though!

Just bought a Hero 2 and I'm very impressed so far. The build quality is excellent, it's easy to use and the 'one button' start/stop mode is really useful when you're wearing gloves. The quality of the video is superb and it downloads automatically into Windows Live Photo Gallery where it can be edited like any other video clip. All-in-all a great camera which is going to get a lot of use!

Have you been using it skiing in BC? Any video links I can look at (Youtube etc)

I think the attached (short) video clip shows just how good the Hero2 is. Choose HD option for best results. The waterproof casing in which the camera fits snuggly is robust and well made. It comes with interchangeable 'back doors' which allow more, or less sound to reach the microphone which is thoughtfully positioned on the rear of the camera, thus avoiding that horrible wind sound you get with most digital video cameras. The GoPro battery lasts about 2 hours on full charge but I bought a spare to make sure I have enough for a day out in the hills. Looking forward to using it in the Sierras when we get back.Smile

Superb. Very good quality as you say. When I eventually get my ContourHD 1080P Helmet Cam strapped to my head in the Sierras it will be interesting to see how it compares. Looks great skiing there. Tad jealous!
