Photos of the new bivvy cave on Puntal de las Calderetas, Sierra Nevada
A recent excursion to the northern part of Los Tres Miles threw up a new discovery (for us). A bivouac cave just south of Puntal de las Calderetas which itself is situated just south of the Puntral de Vacares.
GRID REF: UTM 4103470N 474081E Photos below. The cave sleeps 2 side by side and further in there is another single slot. It is situated just east of the ridgeline so you can get the last of the sunset and the start of sunrise. A superb spot. In winter or bad weather the front section of the cave may leak due to small gaps in the roof. No foxes and great views! Websites Spanish Highs Mountain Guides and Inspiring the Adventure |

It was a great place to spend a night. Much warmer than being in the open and kept very clean. If anyone does use this, please respect the cave and take ALL litter out with you.
