How to identify the mountain features between Alcazaba and Puntal de Vacares

This is difficult mountain terrain particularly in bad weather on winter. It is essential to know the escape route or safe short cuts. The following series of photos helps to explain the complex terrain.

If doing Los Tres Miles there is a short cut (scramble) through the crags of Alcazaba that saves much time rounding the eastern arm of the mountain. We have used this many times and it is safe provided you know the route!
