How greater group numbers can rapidly increase mountain ascent times
A report sent in by Duane Licudi of Gibraltar shows how times can be dramatically increased by greater group numbers. His group of 9 recently climbed Mulhacen just a few months after his solo guided ascent with ourselves.

Thanks for your advice on weather etc. It turned out to be perfect weather, hardly even a breeze, clear skies and almost would say it was warm with the sun out.

Duane writes..........

"Everyone managed to get to the top, given enough breaks and a pace that was comfortable for all. The trip down the south ridge and back to the cars though took its toll on many as its quite a hike in itself.

Some interesting timings below comparing trip with James in August to this last one. This time round it was 4 hours 7 mins from Poqueira Hut to Mulhacen summit compared to 2 hours 35 mins in August.
