Has anyone used any of the Bestard boots

Never heard of them but they look ok. The "Top Alpine Pro" looks to have similar features to la Sportiva Nepals. At €279 a bit cheaper than the Sportiva equivalent. But what quality???????

I'm not familiar with these boots but I guess they were hiking or mountain boots.

They dont seem to be very well known outside Spain...so no detailed reviews on internet. Maybe you could find some reviews in spanish out there ? If they are stocked locally at least you can try them on !!

An old post but I'll reply just incase might be useful.

I bought the bestard davos from corte ingles sometime last year. From the moment I wore them they felt extremely comfortable no jagged edges on seams etc that might cause sores on ankle etc. Have used them on mulhacen summer ascents, atlas mountains 5 day traverse and weekend hikes of easy/moderate difficulty totalling about 700km.

The only real problem has been on long descents in warmer weather, between the heat and added friction I've ended up with some blisters on a couple of occasions. My remedy for this in warmer weather and longer descents has been to just go slower or take more frequent breaks.

Also found them quite waterproof, on one occasion misjudged a river crossing and ended up one leg knee deep though taking it out quickly enough prevented any water seeping through between trousers and the boots.

Not sure what they would be like in snow as they are not meant for that.

The other sticking point is no crampon connection so unsure if I could use these boots with crampons or not.

The rubber soles are showing some sign of wear compared to new boots but everything else is intact.

I've never tried Bestard boots but have heard good things about them. Thanks for the info Duane.

I have sort of standardised over the last 20 years into summer boots (Scarpa SL) and winter boots (La Sportiva). This year my last pair of SL's gave up on me and I went for the lighter Scarpa Kailash GTX.

This boot is not as long lasting and durable but is much lighter than the SL's. Been great for high grade scrambling too as it has a good "feel".
